General Audition Notice for 2019/20 Season

To Be Determined Theatre Company is proud to tour professional theatre for young audiences across Ontario & the East Coast of Canada! Heading into our 9th season we have had the opportunity to tour youth focused theatre to theatres, schools, festivals, libraries and museums large and small. On average we perform between 30 -40 shows a month for 8 – 10 months of the year! TBD Theatre Co. is currently hiring multiple roles for our upcoming 2019/20 touring season. We are currently looking for talented, energetic, non-union actors with great attitudes and the desire to travel the country performing!

Auditions are in the evening on March 28 2019 at our studio in Guelph (123 Woolwich St. Suite 101)

We are currently casting for two shows:

Bearenstain Bears On Stage

  • multiple roles needed (male & female)
  • must have acting, singing and dance training
  • ability to play an instrument an asset

We are currently casting for this childhood favourite. This stage adaptation is not only based on the best selling and internationally beloved series ‘The Berenstain Bears’ but written by the same authors -Stan and Jan Berenstain!   A combination of five of ‘The Berenstain Bears’ stories this production includes live music, dance, and endless fun.  The narrator and foremost expert on The Berenstain Bears, guitar – strumming Cowboy Joe, is also the show’s stage director- introducing and commenting on the play’s five episodes.

For this audition applicants will need to prepare both a one minute monologue and a one minute contemporary song (to be sung acapella).

This contract would start with rehearsals in July 2019 and touring would begin mid-August 2019 and run through to June 2020.  This is a non-union, paid contract.

Celestial Being

  • multiple roles needed (1 male & 1 female) both need to appear to be youthful
  • must have acting training
  • ability to play an instrument an asset

We are thrilled to be casting for this beautiful play written by Canadian playwright Dave Deveau. This production follows a young girl with autism, Celeste. She finds it hard to connect or fit in with the people around her. But she knows there must be a whole world of people who are just like her. She decides they live in the one place she dreams of going – up in the stars. She starts building a spaceship to take to her home planet where she belongs. That’s when she meets Martin, a new boy at school. Martin wants to help build the rocket, which is something that Celeste would not usually share with others. In this ‘new boy’ comes an unexpected friendship and a new way for Celeste to look at human interaction. This is when the real adventure begins.

For this audition applicants would need to prepare two contrasting contemporary one minute monologues.

This contract would start with rehearsals in the late fall of 2019 and touring would begin January 2019 and run through to June 2020.  This is a non-union, paid contract.

Auditions are on March 28 2019 in the evening at our studio
