Meet Enviro-Man…

“What would David Suzuki do?”

Avery will never be the same. He recently learned about climate change at school and the negative effects on the planet, so how could he be? How could his family and the rest of the world just go about their days as if the polar bears weren’t dying and the polar icebergs weren’t melting, or ice caps, or whatever! There were so many things to worry about and so many facts to remember and precautions that should be taken to save the planet. When Avery finds out his father, his very own father, is going to chop down a tree in their backyard to enlarge the driveway he realizes there is no time like the present to stand up for what he believes in.

Avery holds his first protest in the tree house attached to the tree and won’t come down until his father changes his mind. Between his family’s frustration with his behaviour (and stealing of their ‘needless’ appliances), Avery’s best friend wanting to give up and play soccer and the scary noises at night this is one fun, educational comedy. An excellent way to start and continue conversations about these important topics, and how we can find a lifestyle that allows for environmental sustainability without having to resort to tree house living!
